The Wedding Singer Auditions
Date : Friday 28th March 2025, with possible callback Monday 31st March.

Show dates : Tuesday 24th - Saturday 28th June 2025 (all performances 7.30pm)
We are casting for all roles in our end of season musical comedy, The Wedding Singer.
First round auditions will take place on Friday 28th March at 7:30pm at The Royalty Theatre. All are welcome.
The first round will consist of group singing and dancing, before working on some small group acting scenes.
There will be a callback audition on Monday 31st March for those invited back to audition for principal roles.
Rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with the occasional Sunday. Not all cast will be needed for every rehearsal.

Roles:
Robbie Hart: The lead singer of a band. Handsome and charismatic. A truly 'nice' guy that has the classic lead singer aura and personality. Also a bit of a dreamer. In love with love until Linda leaves him at the altar and breaks his heart.
Age range: 25 to 35
Vocal type: Tenor
Julia Sullivan: Waitress. The pretty "girl next door" in looks and personality. Engaged to Glen but falls in love with Robbie and is conflicted as to who to choose. Empathetic, caring, and brave.
Age range: 25 to 35
Vocal type: Mezzo soprano
Sammy: The bass player in the wedding band and one of Robbie's best friends. A total guy's guy, but beneath his pretending to love being a bachelor he is actually in love with Holly.
Age range: 25 to 35
Vocal type: Tenor
Holly: Julia's cousin. Sexually promiscuous and always up for a good time, but wants to be loved and is looking for romantic fulfillment in all the wrong places. She is in love with Sammy.
Age range: 25 - 35
Vocal type: Mezzo soprano
Glen Guglia: Julia's fiancé. A Wall Street broker. He is rich, shallow, and materialistic. Constantly tries to buy Julia's love with money. He is a bit of a womanizer
Age range: 25 - 40
Vocal type: Tenor
Linda: Robbie's fiancé who leaves him at the altar. Keeps Robbie around as a back-up plan. Is more in love with the idea of Robbie being a rock star than she actually is with Robbie.
Age range: 25 to 35
Vocal type: Alto with rock belt
George: Wedding band's keyboardist and one of Robbie's best friends. He is sensitive and somewhat flamboyant. The foil to Sammy's super guy attitude.
Age range: 25 to 35
Vocal type: Tenor
Rosie: Robbie's grandmother who raised him. Motherly but adventurous and always trying to remain "hip" despite her age.
Age: 60+
Vocal type: Alto
Ensemble: A large array of characters including wedding parties and guests, family members, stockbrokers and celebrity impersonators! Many of these ensemble parts have good sized solo singing parts also.
