Audition for us!
Whether you're hoping for a starring role or might just fancy the tiniest of parts, you'll be welcome at one of our auditions. No experience is necessary and we rarely require any preparation. Auditions are open to those 16 and over unless stated.
Rehearsals usually take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings for the six weeks before a performance (often longer for panto), any you won't necessarily need to attend all of them. Often a director can work around days that you might not be available. You'll get all of the information for a specific show at the audition.
Confirmed Auditions
Next auditions are likely to take place in November/December for our Private Lives production. Please watch this space for details.
What to expect from auditions
Auditions are usually fairly informal and will be presided over by the director, assistant director and a small casting panel who help the director make their decisions. You will be provided with a script for the evening and will be asked to either read or perform passages of it, often with other auditionees. The exact format differs between auditions, but if you have any concerns or accessibility requirements, please contact us or message us on Facebook.
We will take some basic contact details, as we will not usually be able to give you the results of the audition on the night itself. We do try to contact everyone regardless of the outcome.
Those who wish to get involved with us would need to become an Active Member and will be asked to pay £30 per year to join the Royalty Theatre. This membership will entitle members to one half price ticket for each production (some exceptions may apply), and allows the individual to get involved with as many or as few aspects of our productions as they wish. Following the pantomime, you are able to join as an Active Member for the discounted price of £20. You can find out more about our membership schemes here.
Where auditions are held on Social nights (most Fridays), you'll be welcome to stay and enjoy the comforts of our bar afterwards. And if you're interest in any aspects of the theatre other than acting, please see our volunteering page.
